Is Brushing With Toothpaste Really Important?
We all know that the scrubbing action of tooth brushing is a key factor in keeping our mouths healthy. But have you ever wondered what role toothpaste itself plays in the entire "tooth-brushing" scenario?
Here are the top reasons toothpaste is terrific:
1. Toothpaste and a proper brushing action work to remove plaque--a sticky, harmful film of bacteria that grows on your teeth and causes cavities, gum disease and eventual tooth loss--if not controlled!
2. Toothpaste contains that all-important "fluoride," which beefs up the entire tooth structure, making it more resistant to decay. Fluoride also promotes re-mineralization, which aids in repairing early decay before the damage can even be seen.
3. Special ingredients in toothpaste help to clean and polish teeth and remove stains over time. Regularly brushed teeth help make a whiter smile.
4. Toothpastes help freshen breath and leave the mouth with a clean, fresh feeling.

Yes, I believe that toothpaste is really necessary in brushing one's teeth. During my visit with my nephew's dentist (Sevierville, T. N.), he told us that toothpaste contains special ingredients to help clean teeth the way specialists want it to be.
This is an interesting topic. I have never heard of not using it before. Toothpaste contains things that fight cavities etc..
